Wedding Dress Quilt for Aimee

Aimee had a beautiful satin wedding dress.  After looking at several different options, we decided to use her train as the quilt.

The quilt was a bit larger than usual (60" x 86") to include as much of the train as possible.  The lace and pearl embellishments, and satin roses really worked well with the quilting design.  I quilted a feather heart with trailing ribbons on each side at the top, and used a combination of feather designs for the rest of the quilt.

Wedding Dress Pillows for Judi

Judi's wedding dress had a lot of beautiful lace.  She asked me to make two pillows that showed off the lace.  The pillows are the same design, with the front a quilted heart with lace from the bodice of the dress in the center.  The back of the pillows is a lace "frame" and edging, with the bride and groom's names and wedding date machine embroidered on the back.

Wedding Dress Quilts for Lynne and Lori

Lynne wanted a quilt made from her sister's wedding dress.  Her sister had passed away, and she wanted a remembrance quilt.  She asked that the center of the quilt be quilted in a wedding ring pattern, and wanted some color in the borders. The inner border is a ribbon design with the background quilted in a dusty pink thread, and the feathers in the outer border are quilted in blue thread.

Lori asked for two quilts from her wedding dress.  There wasn't enough fabric for two quilts, so the center and inner border were made from her dress, and the outer border was made from a matching satin fabric. She requested a cross hatch pattern in the center, and feathers in the border.  Note, the satin didn't photograph well, these quilts are much prettier than the photos!

Wedding dress quilts for Debi and Melissa

Debi's wedding dress had beautiful embellishments, which I used in the center, and the corners of the borders.  Names, date and a saying from the wedding went in the center, and the two narrow borders were their wedding colors.

Melissa had an idea for her grandmother's lace wedding dress, crosshatching, with the covered buttons from the back of the dress at the corners of the crosshatching.  The center was lace, the borders satin.
