Erika's Ornate Wedding Dress
Erika's dress was really ornate, had big train and lots of lace and beading. We decided to use the beaded lace in the inner border, and in a diamond shape in the center of the quilt. Her dress had a big bow, satin flowers and streamers on the back, I also incorporated those on the bottom of the quilt.
Their names and wedding date were embroidered in gold inside a heart in the center of the quilt, surrounded by a quilted heart and feather design. The outer border was quilted in a nice feather design.

Diane's Quilt from her Mother's Wedding Dress
Diane's Mother had the most amazing satin wedding dress. It was Candlelight color, had a hoop skirt, and had the biggest train I'd ever seen. She was married in 1942 and the satin was still in beautiful condition.
In the center of the quilt, I created two feather ovals, with flowers inside. The inner border continued the flowers and leaves. For the outer border, I quilted a pretty feather design.

Wedding Dress Quilt from Jenelle's Train
Jenelle's dress had a satin train with lace and beading. There was beautiful lace and beading around the bottom of the train. We decided to make a quilt out of the train, rather than cut it up.
The corners were pieced to make the quilt rectangular, and the bottom of the quilt ended at the curved lace edge so that the lace is hanging off of the quilt the way it was in the dress. The quilting was designed to accentuate the lace on the quilt.

Wedding Dress Quilt for Erin
Erin's wedding dress had beautiful embroidery and beading on the chiffon skirt. At the bottom of the skirt, there were two narrow satin borders. The underskirt was satin, which was used for the quilt top.
In the center, I embroidered the bride and groom's names and wedding date inside a circle made from the beading that was around the neckline of the bodice. The embroidery was placed in the corners of the center, and a fancy feather design was quilted in the open areas.
The inner border was a feather swirl design. The narrow satin borders from the bottom of the skirt were put on the outer border, with a quilted design adapted from the embroidery between the borders.
